Uniform

The Dolphin School is proud of its school uniform. We believe a school uniform promotes:

- a sense of pride in the school;
- engenders a feeling of community and belonging
- supports positive behaviour;
- is practical and smart;
- identifies the children with the school, and encourages identity with the school,
- supports identifying children when learning outside of the school building;
- makes children feel equal to their peers in terms of appearance;
- prevents children coming to school in fashion or ‘designer’ label clothes that could be  distracting in class or create a sense of competition.

SCHOOL UNIFORM

At The Dolphin School we have our everyday uniform and our PE and activities uniform. Your child will come dressed for P.E for the day. 

All children must wear correct school uniform to and from school and during the school day. This will also be the requirement for school trips, unless otherwise specified.

Please note: All school uniform and physical education kit must be clearly marked with fully named tapes. All equipment and footwear must also be clearly named.

All uniform is available from the school shop however we have indicated where you can buy from other suppliers (Primark, Marks and Spencers, Sainsburys, Asda etc) if preferable:

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

HAIR
Children with hair beyond shoulder length should have it tied back. Hair bands, slides etc. should be plain navy blue or black. 

JEWELLERY
Jewellery should not be worn. One pair of plain small stud earrings may be worn. Earrings may not be worn during any PE activities. A watch may be worn but must be clearly named. Smart watches are not permitted in school. Any items brought in are the responsibility of the child.

HIJABS/HEADSCARVES
These must be plain black, white or navy blue only.

MAKE UP AND NAILS
Make up including nail varnish should not be worn with school uniform. 

If children do not wear the correct uniform, a letter will be sent home. If this happens on a second occasion, then the parent/carer will be asked to come into school and bring the correct uniform.
